Real stories. real impact
Case studies
rachel k, vice president, regulatory strategy
I initially met Charmaine when we temporarily worked in the same organisation and was impressed with her knowledge and leadership presence. I have since been fortunate enough to work with Charmaine over the last 12 months in a totally different role as she coached me while I moved into a new leadership position.
From the outset, Charmaine created a trusted space that was both supportive and challenging, pushing me to invest time in honest reflection and personal growth. Through her natural coaching abilities, she helped me gain clarity on my leadership style and areas for development. I am completely confident that the experience has improved my effectiveness as a leader.
“Charmaine created a trusted space that was both supportive and challenging. She helped me gain clarity on my leadership style and areas for development."
Kirsten B, Head of global labeling strategy
What changed for you as a result of this coaching experience?
The most noticeable change has been to the level of confidence which your coaching has played a great part in developing. I have also increased the trust in my abilities as a leader and people manager. It has also been important to understand and learn more about what type of leader I want to be and how I show that in actions and behaviours.
How would you describe my coaching style?
Supportive! You truly provided a safe space where I felt I could be honest to both myself and also to you. Regardless of my state of mind or the things I brought up you always had the patience and tolerance to coach me through it. I'm impressed about your insightful ways and how you always are able to ask the questions to help me process my thoughts and find the paths forward.
"Regardless of my state of mind or the things I brought up, you always had the patience and tolerance to coach me through it."
Linda c, Head of Global regulatory compliance
What changed for you as a result of this coaching experience?
I feel more at ease in my role as a leader. While I still occasionally question whether I’m truly the right person for the position, those moments are less frequent and come with less self‑doubt than before. Overall, I would say the biggest change has been an increase in my confidence.
How would you describe my coaching style?
You once described your style as ‘gently challenging,’ and I think that captures it perfectly. You consistently hold up a thoughtful mirror, inviting the person being coached to pause and ask themselves, ‘Is that really so?’, all without ever coming across as dismissive or patronizing. Your way of questioning feels supportive rather than confrontational, creating a space where one can reflect honestly and openly.
"Your way of questioning feels supportive rather than confrontational, creating a space where one can reflect honestly and openly".
Annalisa G, HEAD OF REGULATORY BUSINESS OPERATIONS
I had the pleasure to work with Charmaine in my new role at Sobi and she is just incredible: strong Regulatory Affairs and business expertise accompanied by a great personality, able to transform any teams or projects in a success!
Her communication and coaching skills are unique and her willingness to support and develop others is outstanding. She would be a great mentor to any leader (executive level, seasoned, new leader or leader-to-be) in any organization.
I highly recommend Charmaine since she can guide leaders in becoming better people leaders, helping them to focus on their strengths and unlock their potential.
Working on a project with her allowed me to expand my knowledge, to grow and develop my leadership skills. I wish I met her earlier, and I hope our paths will cross again soon.

Raj B, senior director
I had the pleasure of working with Charmaine at Shire. Charmaine is a very knowledgeable and talented leader with great depth of knowledge in the regulatory area. Charmaine is very dedicated and a committed leader who can lead cross functional teams across various geographical locations.
Charmaine has a passion for systems and has always got involved in various site and diversity & inclusion initiatives. Charmaine and I led the woman’s forum, Charmaine was instrumental in kicking this off and maintaining the momentum for this employee resource group. Charmaine played a key role during employee consultation processes and also supported many employees in her mentoring role. Charmaine based on her leadership and transferable skills would be an assets to any Pharmaceutical Company.
“Charmaine played a key role during employee consultation processes and also supported many employees in her mentoring role.”
Barbara M, Strategy & Business Operations Lead
Charmaine was my manager for over two years while she was heading the R&D Regional center in Europe for Takeda. She has a fantastic talent in developing and coaching others. She was an inspiration and role model, with an authentic and trusting style. She allowed me to work independently but at the same time was available to exchange ideas.
When we drafted the first strategy for the regional center, she provided great insights on how to build our vision and which initiatives would add more value. She has strong and natural leadership skills, thus gaining respect from all colleagues who interacted with her in R&D and other functions. She set the foundations for a new R&D regional center, building a strong community and enabling strong connections with key stakeholders. She volunteered a lot of her time to mentor other colleagues at different levels of the organization. She is dedicated to increase diversity and inclusion in the company and sponsored many employees resource groups. I would love to work with her again.
“Charmaine was an inspiration and role model, with an authentic and trusting style. She allowed me to work independently but at the same time was available to exchange ideas.”
Sue W, Head of Regulatory Operations, Process Excellence & Compliance
Charmaine is a self-motivated and fearless leader. She can empower and inspire team members and take responsibility for their performance. She engages with global colleagues to promote diversity as well as encouraging skill growth and educational programmes for personal development.
She is an effective communicator delivering information with confidence and conviction. Her style is a no-nonsense and focused but she never forgets the needs of the individual. She possesses a curiosity to get to the bottom of things and solve problems to ‘find an answer’. A multi-tasker who can delegate as well as create highly effective, cohesive and connected teams.
“Charmaine is a self-motivated and fearless leader. Her style is a no-nonsense and focused but she never forgets the needs of the individual.”
Lotanna E, senior director
“Charmaine's brilliance, energy and diligence was an inspiration to the team and I know I am a better leader in no small thanks to you.”

Looking for a speaker who brings leadership to life?
I deliver thought-provoking keynotes and interactive sessions that challenge thinking, create meaningful conversation and offer practical insights into how we communicate, adapt and lead in complex, multicultural organisations.
The impact we have isn't always the impact we intend.
Most leaders have good intentions. But leadership isn't experienced through our intentions — it's experienced through our behaviours.
This talk explores the gap between intention and impact: how our communication, energy, decision-making and leadership preferences are experienced by the people around us, and why learning to adapt doesn't mean becoming someone we're not.
A practical exploration of self-awareness, adaptability and what it really means to lead different people effectively.
Leading, communicating and collaborating across cultures.
What feels clear, respectful or effective to one person can be experienced very differently by another.
Drawing on more than 20 years working across global, multicultural organisations, this talk explores how culture shapes the way we communicate, build trust, make decisions and disagree — and what happens when we assume everyone sees the world as we do.
A practical and thought-provoking exploration of why cultural intelligence is no longer a 'nice to have' leadership skill.
Your Leadership is Someone Else's Experience
When Different Doesn't Mean Wrong
Example Keynote topics
Understanding your impact is the first step to leading others effectively.
Technical expertise may get us into leadership, but it doesn't automatically equip us to lead. This talk explores why self-awareness matters, how our natural behaviours shape the experience of those around us, and why effective leadership starts with understanding ourselves.
Through personal stories, leadership experience and practical insights, I explore how greater self-awareness gives leaders more choice — in how they communicate, respond, adapt and lead.
Leadership starts with Self
Your Voice is your Power!
Speaking up in the room (even when your voice shakes).
Silencing the inner critic.
Confidence isn’t born, it’s built.
What it means to ‘Find Your Voice’.
In a world that often tells us to stay quiet, blend in, or wait our turn, this talk is a rallying cry to do the opposite: own your story, trust your voice, and speak with confidence.
Whether you're navigating leadership, change, or self-doubt, "Speak Up" explores how finding your voice isn’t just about being heard — it’s about owning who you are and showing up fully.
Through powerful stories, practical strategies, and a boost of courage, this session will help you silence your inner critic and amplify your impact.
